Building a shower pan is good and true. The tub is a fixture that is placed or mounted permanently in the bathroom. Most modern bathtubs are made of acrylic or fiberglass, but some are made from porcelaincoated steel or wood. Old fashioned bathtub in the Western world are usually made from steel from the iron (cast iron) that is coated with porcelain.

Until recently most bathtubs are made in the form of more or less rectangular, butwith the advent of acrylic formation technique, then any variation is more diverse. The tub is typically white, but now other colours is common.

The use of the bath is often criticized because it wastes water.

The bathtub is usually made in two types:

West bath, where the bather lies down. The tub is typically long and somewhat superficial.

The East bathtub, in which users stand. The bath like this called ofuro in Japan and usually shorter and deeper.
