how much water does a shower use and for daily needs. Sometimes we are not aware of the same water we use for daily life, maybe if we drink to drink the 1.5-2.5 Liters per day. But what about the needs of water for bathing, urinating and defecating, washing clothes, washing dishes, washing hands, brush your teeth, etc.
If we assume 1 tit for is 1 liter of water, then imagine how many liters of water that we need only to take a shower and this is done on average 2 times a day, needs water to take a shower for people in the city reached 45% of the total usage of clean water (drinking water Survey Directorate the development of Copyright Works in 2006). Besides how many liters should we waste just to urinate? I guess 2 liters (2 tit forstandard size) is sufficient. Not to mention the need to cleanse the bowel. The other major water needs are for washing clothes, dishes, and private vehicles. How should we dump bucket just to wash it? Here are some of the details of the research results:
Toothbrush with the tap 1 min = 6 L
Brush your teeth with glasses = 0.5 L
Shower bath tub 5 minutes = 30 tit for = 30 L
Bath bathtub standard = 100 L
WC flush new type = 6 L (1/2 = flush 3 L)
Wash your car with a bucket = 75 L
Car wash with a hose = 300 L
Car wash/flush the plants with the hose 30 minutes = 180 L
Front loading washing machine = 100 L
Washing machine top loading = 150 L
Dishwasher faucet with 15 minutes = 90 L
Dish washing with sink = 45 L
Faucets/LAVATORY leaking per day = 100 L
The most important thing is to not remove the function of water which is very vital to human life, but just need good management to natural resources. wear the wateras necessary and to taste. No need to throw out 4 to 5 liters of water just for cleaning up former urination or even just to wash your hands and brush your teeth.
Problems will be brought about certainly have an impact on the environment. the use of excess water that will suck up the stock of ground water so the dwindling ground water reserves, especially in the big cities such as Jakarta. Then on the lapse of years 1982-1987 Jakarta land has decreased about 60 cm, even in some places reaches 1, 8 m.
Then how much household waste that should be flowing into the river each day? Currently still rare application of processing technology of waste household appliancesto be used again. The average requirement for such households still rely on TAPS which can only meet 40% and the rest comes from ground water (making the wells). Therefore it has been very rare we see a clean river views from both the water qualityas well as the conditions of the surrounding environment.
Then to reduce environmental burdens and threats from the clean water crisis the solution is:
1. Close the taps (sink) while brushing my teeth, can save 1 gallon of clean water.
2. bring drinking water respectively while traveling, because to produce 1 litre of bottled water it takes 7 liters of water
3. use a shower to be more water efficient (but do not add the duration of your bath)
4. Flush the plant on the morning/afternoon to reduce evaporation
5. use the appropriate water to flush urinating or large (flush/small button large WC& seated)
